Ignition on connects R(ed) to O(range)O/B(lack) and Gr(ey) to Br(own).R comes from the battery O & O/B seems to feed the starting circuit=they could be turned on whenever the switch is on. Y(ellow) coming from the dimmer switch feeds the High beam of the headlight and that could be used to turn on the relay (or feed the switching circuit for the relay) for the driving lights whenever the high beams were on. I use a relay as most electrical parts are made to run at the manufacturers designed amps and any extra load will shorten the life of the contacts in the ignition switch and it is expensive compared to a relay. Ask FoMoCo how much the ignition switch recall campaign for PU, vans and cars cost them in real dollars and lost cusotmer confidence. A relay lets the light load(amps) be carried by the relay circuit and all you do is control the relay control circuit, which is very small, with the ignition switch. Relays and a little wire are much cheaper than ignitions switches.
